JOIN US FOR OUR VERY FIRST WILD & SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL RIGHT HERE ON THE KERN RIVER.
50 Years ago America created the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act giving protection to hundreds of free flowing wild rivers across the United States. Our Mighty Kern River was designated Wild & Scenic 31 years ago. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held in collaboration with the United States Forest Service, Kern River Conservancy and Kern River Brewing Company's much anticipated release of a new beer commemorating Wild & Scenic Rivers. We will showcase several short documentaries dedicated to Wild & Scenic Rivers. This event is open to all ages with a special area designated just for the kids with Smokey Bear, U.S. Forest Service Fire Engines, face painting and many more activities. We will have guest speaker Steve Evans from California Wilderness Coalition put on a short presentation on current and future Wild & Scenic designations currently being proposed within Sequoia National Forest.
Event begins with social and beer hour 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
