Kern River Conservancy is always recruiting volunteers looking to make an impact and assist us with our fight to conserve and restore the Kern River. We encourage everyone to step up and keep our river pristine, wild and scenic. Fill out our volunteer contact form and we will notify you with all our volunteer events, fundraisers, community outreach and river outings. 





Join us for Kern County's BIGGEST river cleanup on Sautrday September 15, 2018 at 10:30am.

  • We will meet at the Upper Richbar picnic site located in the Lower Kern River. Just a few miles north of the mouth of the canyon from Bakersfield. Volunteers are encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes early to register and be assigned to a team and be briefed on the event and safety.
  • We encourage everyone to please dress according to weather and terrain. Hiking boots are highly reccomended along with hats, sunscreen, a small backpack, water and any other piece of gear you require. We will have complimentary coolers of cold Gatorades and water available.
  • We will return to basecamp at 2:00pm as we will have BJ's Restaruant from Bakersfield cater pizza for all the volunteers.
